What we do, and what we don't.
Wellness that's worth the trip, and the trip down the street.
Tendground is a curated marketplace for wellness across the US. We map the day-experience studios, sauna, cold plunge, breathwork, sound, recovery, in cities across the country, and we curate multi-day retreats from Big Sur to the Blue Ridge. We also publish honest, evidence-based guides to every practice.
We are not a directory, and we are not a "best of" listicle. The venue maps are compiled from public listings, so we tell you plainly they are mapped, not personally vetted, and ask you to confirm the details. The providers we actively recommend are ones we've researched closely enough to stand behind. If we wouldn't recommend it, we don't recommend it.
How we choose
Three criteria. A provider has to clear all three before we list them.
Quality of work. The instructor or practitioner has real training, not a weekend certificate. The space is clean. The schedule is respectable. We research each one carefully, read what real customers say over time, and visit where we can before we put our recommendation on it.
Honest pricing. The price on the listing is the price you pay. Surprise upsells at checkout, "service fees" added later, and bait-and-switch first-visit deals get a provider delisted.
Operator-friendly cancellation. The cancellation policy is published, fair, and honored. If we hear repeated complaints about cancellation handling, we follow up.
How we make money
One way, clearly disclosed. We never run sponsored placements and there is no pay-to-rank.
- Booking commissions. When you book a retreat or day experience through Tendground, the provider pays us a percentage of the booking. The price you see is the price you pay; the commission comes from their side. Listing is free, and paying us nothing changes where or whether a provider appears.
What we don't do
We don't sell supplements. We don't give medical advice. We don't claim any service treats, cures, or prevents any specific condition. We don't run our own retreats or provide any wellness service directly, every provider on the platform is an independent business responsible for their own service delivery.
We also don't list everything we know about. Quality matters more to us than coverage. If you don't see a famous brand on the site, it's possible we haven't gotten to them yet, and it's also possible we looked closely and wouldn't recommend them.
Who we are
Tendground is a small editorial team in the US. We have backgrounds in writing, hospitality, and various wellness modalities. We're not therapists, doctors, or licensed practitioners. We're informed consumers writing for other informed consumers.
