Short answer: We checked 14 Charlotte sauna and cold plunge businesses (16 locations) on their own websites in September 2026. For traditional heat plus a real cold pool, go to Sauna House, Sunday Hot Springs or Sauna Culture. For a private water plunge, look at The Plunge House, Degree Wellness, Pause, True REST or the recovery spaces at Arrichion and CORE24. Five more are infrared studios without a plunge. Listed single visits run $29 to $80.

Charlotte’s sauna scene splits three ways. A small group of bathhouse-style venues run traditional hot rooms beside cold pools and sell timed visits of 90 minutes to two hours. A second group rents private suites, some with a true cold water plunge and some with infrared heat only. And two fitness studios in South End have built a sauna and a plunge into their spaces.

Shared bathhouses and private suites suit different people, and our private vs communal sauna guide sets out the trade-off. Below is every place we verified, with the prices each one lists. Our Charlotte wellness directory maps the rest, including float and massage studios, with shortlists for saunas and cold plunges.

Traditional saunas and bathhouses in Charlotte

These three are the closest Charlotte gets to a Nordic bathhouse: hot rooms heated the traditional way, cold water you get into, and somewhere to rest between rounds.

  • Sauna House Charlotte, 1500 W Morehead St. A Nordic spa in a 1934 industrial building, built around a two-hour Thermal Cycle that rotates between traditional saunas, cold pools and rest, with massage as an add-on. Guests must be 18 or over, or 14 or over with a legal guardian, and we found no drop-in price on its site outside the booking flow.
  • Sunday Hot Springs, 420 W Palmer St. A bathhouse with a traditional dry sauna, an herbal eucalyptus steam room, a cold plunge it calls the Polar Plunge, a heated saltwater pool and indoor and outdoor lounges. Reservations are required, and the pass was listed at $80 for two hours of full access on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • Sauna Culture, 274 S Sharon Amity Rd, Cotswold. A wood-and-stone Finnish-style sauna (no infrared, the studio stresses) with individual cold plunges, not shared tubs, at three temperature levels starting from 55°F. The 90-minute day pass, plunges included, was listed at $40 on weekdays and $50 on weekends on its site when we checked in September 2026; a private suite with its own sauna, shower and plunge takes up to four guests.

Cold plunge and contrast studios in Charlotte

Every place in this section has a cold plunge you actually get into: a tub or pool of chilled water. Some also sell whole-body cryotherapy, a few minutes in a chamber of very cold, dry air, which is a different thing (see our cold plunge vs cryotherapy guide), so we label it where it appears.

  • The Plunge House, 3216 South Blvd, Suite 202. A members-only house (you apply to join) where each session is 30 minutes in your own pod with a cold and a hot plunge, after time in its steam rock sauna. We found no prices on its site; it mentions an intro offer for first-time visitors aged 18 and over.
  • Degree Wellness Steele Creek, 12840 Walker Branch Rd. Its cold plunge is water immersion set to 47°F for 3 to 5 minutes in a private suite, alongside a 45-minute infrared sauna and contrast sessions; its cryotherapy (minus 175 degrees for 3 minutes) is a separate, dry-cold service. A first session was listed at $25 on its site when we checked in September 2026, with memberships from $75 a month for two sessions.
  • Pause Studio Arboretum, 7915 Providence Rd, Suite 305. Private contrast suites pair an infrared sauna with a cold plunge for 30 to 60 minutes, and the studio also offers float tanks and whole-body cryotherapy. Credit memberships were listed from $79 a month for 6 credits (a 30-minute contrast session uses 4) on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • True REST Float Spa, 906 Pecan Ave. A float spa that also has a Vitality Suite with an infrared sauna, red light therapy and a cold plunge. A Vitality Suite session was listed at $65, and a 60-minute float at $89, on its site when we checked in September 2026.

Fitness studios with a sauna and plunge

  • Arrichion, 125 Winona St, South End. This hot yoga and strength studio runs a recovery suite with a 199-degree Norwegian sauna and personal cold plunge tubs, open to non-members by appointment. A 30-minute sauna and plunge drop-in was listed at $29, and a 2-minute plunge on its own at $10, on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • CORE24, 2320 Toomey Ave, South End. A gym with an outdoor area it calls the Oasis, with a sauna, a cold plunge and red light therapy; you must be 18 or over. Membership was listed at $125.99 a month including the Oasis, plus enrollment and annual fees, and a day pass at $32.99, on its site when we checked in September 2026.

Infrared saunas in Charlotte

Infrared studios warm you with infrared emitters rather than very hot air, so they run cooler than a Finnish sauna, and most rent private suites by the session. None of these five has a cold plunge; our infrared vs traditional sauna guide compares the two kinds of heat.

  • beem Light Sauna Southend, 1422 S Tryon St, Suite 170. Full-spectrum infrared saunas in private suites, with 40-minute sessions in a solo sauna or a larger social sauna if you bring a friend, plus red light therapy. Memberships were listed from $109 a month for four sessions on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • Perspire Sauna Studio, in Ballantyne (14835 Ballantyne Village Way) and Providence Park (2907 Providence Rd). Private infrared suites with red light and halotherapy; its SNØ Shower is a 45°F rainfall shower for up to 45 seconds, not a plunge. A single session was listed at $40 in Ballantyne and $49 at Providence Park, with a $20 intro session at both, on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • Sauna For You!, 1315 East Blvd, Dilworth. A boutique studio with private infrared saunas, 40-minute sessions and free covered parking; staff are on site only part of the time. New customers were offered two sessions for $49, and memberships started at $99 a month for four sessions, on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • Mood House, Dilworth (2400 Park Rd) and Oakhurst (4008 Monroe Rd). A massage studio where each location also has several private infrared sauna suites, for guests 18 and over. A 30-minute solo session was listed at $44 for non-members ($24 for members), or $64 for two, on its site when we checked in September 2026.
  • KUR Health Spa, 3928 Park Rd. Private infrared suites where you lie on a cushioned pad under a telescoping infrared dome with your head outside it, so this is a reclining unit rather than a sit-in cabin. Infrared was listed at $39 for up to 60 minutes, and its Himalayan salt room at $29 for 30 minutes, on its site when we checked in September 2026.

What does a sauna or cold plunge visit cost in Charlotte?

Seven of these venues publish a standard single-visit price for their sauna or plunge, running from $29 (30 minutes of sauna and plunge at Arrichion) to $80 (two hours at Sunday Hot Springs). We left out CORE24’s $32.99 day pass, which is a gym pass.

Compare the length as well as the price. Sauna Culture’s $40 weekday pass buys 90 minutes with the plunges included, while $44 at Mood House buys 30 minutes of private infrared. Intro offers go lower ($20 at Perspire, $25 at Degree Wellness), and the four-visit memberships we found run $69 to $109 a month. Our guide to session costs compares other cities.

Practical notes for a first Charlotte session

Booking. Most places here are appointment-only: Sunday Hot Springs requires reservations, Arrichion books by appointment, The Plunge House is for members, and Sauna House holds a booking with a card and charges at checkout.

What to bring. For the bathhouses, bring a swimsuit. Sauna House asks for a non-sheer one, supplies towels and suggests a reusable water bottle (no glass). Arrichion asks for fitted workout clothes and a towel, which you can rent. In the private infrared suites you undress to your comfort level.

Etiquette. In a shared bathhouse, shower with soap first, sit on your towel in the sauna, ask before adding steam and rinse off before each plunge. Those are Sauna House’s rules, and they hold in most shared saunas; our first sauna session guide covers the rest.

Session length. Sauna House suggests up to 15 to 20 minutes in the sauna, 3 to 5 in the plunge and 10 to 15 resting, for two or three rounds in two hours. Infrared sessions here run 30 to 60 minutes. On a first visit, stay shorter than those guidelines.

Health. Strong heat and cold are not for everyone. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or take blood pressure medication, read who should avoid cold plunging and check with your doctor first.

How we built this Charlotte list

We started from the Charlotte venues in our own directory, searched for ones it was missing, then checked each business on its own website in September 2026: that it exists, that it is in Charlotte and that it offers what we describe. Prices are the ones each venue lists; where none is listed, we say so.

We have not visited these places, and nobody paid to be listed. We left out one studio whose site we could not load when we checked, and we did not count cryotherapy as a cold plunge. Confirm hours and prices with the venue before you go.

FAQ: Charlotte sauna and cold plunge

Where can you cold plunge in Charlotte without a membership? Sauna Culture, Sunday Hot Springs, Arrichion and True REST’s Vitality Suite all list single visits on their sites, from $29 (Arrichion, 30 minutes) to $80 (Sunday Hot Springs, two hours). Degree Wellness lists a $25 first session, Sauna House sells two-hour visits through its online booking, and The Plunge House is members-only.

Is there a traditional Finnish sauna in Charlotte? Yes. Sauna Culture runs a wood-and-stone Finnish-style sauna and says it uses no infrared. Sauna House has traditional saunas in its Thermal Cycle, Sunday Hot Springs has a traditional dry sauna, and Arrichion’s recovery suite has a 199-degree Norwegian sauna.

How much does a sauna or cold plunge session cost in Charlotte? Among the seven venues here that publish a standard single-visit price, $29 to $80, mostly depending on length. Four-visit memberships run $69 to $109 a month.

Is cryotherapy the same as a cold plunge in Charlotte studios? No. A cold plunge is a tub or pool of cold water. Cryotherapy is a few minutes in a chamber of very cold air; Degree Wellness lists it at minus 175 degrees for 3 minutes, separately from its 47°F plunge, and Pause Arboretum also sells both.

The bottom line on Charlotte saunas and cold plunges

For the full hot, cold and rest cycle, go to one of the three bathhouse-style venues: Sauna House for a two-hour social circuit, Sunday Hot Springs if you also want steam and a warm saltwater pool, or Sauna Culture for Finnish heat with individual plunges at the lowest listed bathhouse price.

For a private plunge, use a contrast studio or Arrichion’s recovery suite; the infrared studios offer private heat but no plunge. Most of these places are appointment-only, so book ahead.

From our own mapping of 19 day-wellness venues in Charlotte, NC. Categories come from each venue's own website where we could read it, otherwise from its name, so a place that offers a plunge without saying so is counted only as a general studio: treat these as a floor, not a census.
